Samsung Galaxy Ring Australia release window confirmed

Australia will get the Samsung Galaxy Ring very soon, with the giant tech brand confirming an October release date for its new wearable device.

First shown off in detail at MWC 2024 earlier this year, Samsung originally launched the Galaxy Ring overseas at its July Unpacked event. With the Ring debuting alongside the Flip 6 and Fold 6 phones, Samsung officials confirmed it’d come to Australia by the end of 2024.

That time has now arrived, with Australia being the first South-East Asian and Oceanic country to get Samsung’s newest device. An alternative to smartwatches like the Galaxy Watch Ultra, the Ring monitors various health measurements, like sleep quality, in a smaller form factor you can wear on your finger. It all feeds into the Samsung Health platform, letting you track wellness metrics in a single location.

Available in nine different sizes, the Samsung Galaxy Ring comes in three different colours: Titanium Black, Titanium Silver, and Titanium Gold. Because it’s less adjustable than a watch band, for example, Samsung provides a sizing kit designed to help you find a comfortable fit. After picking a size, you wear a sample ring for 24 hours to make sure it’s comfy.

Made to pair with existing Samsung devices, the Galaxy Ring is an option for those who don’t like wearing watches, especially when sleeping. Early reviews indicate that it’s a clever piece of hardware best suited for use with Samsung’s ecosystem.

Samsung Galaxy Ring Australia release date and price

Although Samsung hasn’t specified an exact release date or price in Australia yet, it confirmed the Galaxy Ring will arrive “from mid-October”. According to the brand’s press release, it’ll be available exclusively through Samsung’s online and in-person stores.

Overseas, the wearable gadget retails for US$399, so expect it to crack the $600 mark locally. We’ll share more details once we get them.
