It may be smaller, but the Hisense C2 Ultra projector still produces a huge picture.
Shown in action at IFA 2024, Hisense’s new projector follows in the footsteps of the C1 model launched in Australia earlier this year. The Hisense C2 Ultra retains the maximum 300-inch image projection of its predecessor, with a bunch of upgrades and a slimmer build.
Now housed in a smaller body and an adjustable stand, the C2 Ultra sits at the top of Hisense’s C2 series, producing high brightness and contrast levels. With support for IMAX Enhanced and Dolby Vision, along with 110% coverage of the BT.2020 colour gamut, it’s destined for movie nights.
Judging by its specs, it’s also a games night specialist. The Hisense C2 Ultra supports refresh rates as high as 240Hz, coming with an Auto Low Latency Mode to help foster smooth gameplay.
Gaming dominated Hisense’s IFA 2024 presence, the brand touting its ”Designed for Xbox” certification emblazoned on the projector range. Alongside the C2, the Hisense Laser Cinema PX3-PRO achieves similar gaming-optimised specs, with one key difference. It’s a short-throw projector, meaning you can sit it extremely close to a surface and still enjoy an image as big as 150 inches.
In a similar vein to Samsung’s The Frame TV range, Hisense also showcased its version of the art-inspired TV. Less clunkily named, the Hisense Canvas TV sports a matte panel designed to reduce glare, and a wall mount that makes your screen look like a framed picture.
As is often the case at major overseas trade shows, Hisense hasn’t yet confirmed release dates or prices for Australia. Based on previous release cycles, we’ll likely find out more at CES shortly after the new year.
From the living room to the kitchen and the laundry
Beyond the living room, Hisense also demoed its latest kitchen and cleaning appliances. For cooking, the brand’s Hi 9 Series Oven includes a built-in camera to check on your food, plus a lot of pre-programmed settings to choose from. Meanwhile, the Hisense PureFlat fridge comes with a big 21-inch touchscreen that gives you recipe suggestions based on available ingredients.
Moving to the laundry, Hisense’s latest Series 7i washing machines take a leaf out of Samsung’s playbook. It provides an AI-powered cycle that automatically adjusts settings based on each load of washing.
But what if you want an air conditioner too? You’re in luck, because Hisense has a new range called the Energy Pro X. It’s designed to cool, heat, and purify air as efficiently as possible.
Like the home theatre range, you’ll have to wait a bit longer to find out when the new appliances arrive in Australia. There’s a lot to unpack in the meantime, that’s for sure.
