Adobe brings the power of Photoshop to iPhones (and Android)

There’s a new Photoshop app available for iPhones, with an Android version due out soon. Aimed at designers and creators who want to do their creative work on the go, Adobe’s new app will extend Photoshop’s powerful features from the desktop to the mobile app. This includes tools such as layering, masking, and AI-powered generative fill, via Firefly.

With its new Mobile and Web plan, Adobe offers advanced image editing and design capabilities to mobile and web creators. This includes the ability to make precise selections, targeted adjustments, advanced colour correction, along with generative AI. There’s full support for opening and editing any Photoshop document, making integration between web and mobile platforms possible. This enables multi-project workflows, where creators will be able to work on the same project across devices.

Updates to Photoshop on the web include UI improvements, direct integration of Adobe’s Stock Library, and browser compatibility with Safari, Chrome, Firefox, and Edge.

Photoshop’s new mobile and web apps unlock next-generation creativity, empowering creators to bring to life gorgeous photos, rich graphics, and incredible art anytime, anywhere.

Adobe’s Content Credentials, which is like a “nutrition label” for digital content, is also supported in the Photoshop Mobile app, meaning that AI-generated content from Adobe Firefly will be marked and transparent.

Free and paid versions

The introduction of Photoshop for mobile devices also marks the first time that Adobe’s powerful image editing tools will be available on a free tier. The Photoshop mobile app will offer premium upgrades as well (see below) with the Mobile and Web plan starting at $US7.99/month or $US6.99 annually.
