Samsung has changed up its earbuds design with the new Galaxy Buds 3 FE, a pair of in-ear headphones at a lower price than the rest of the brand’s audio gear.
Priced at $249, they’re a bit more expensive than the original $199 Galaxy Buds FE. But with the higher price comes a new blade design, like the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro, and improved audio quality. As designated by the “FE” moniker, the earbuds are meant to bring various flagship features to a more affordable price, akin to the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE phone.
Samsung says the Galaxy Buds 3 FE house a larger speaker and have improved the active noise cancellation. Along with the redesign, the microphone now sits closer to your mouth when wearing them. Combined with voice isolation technology, Samsung claims the microphone is better at blocking out background noise.
Like other blade-styled earbuds, the Galaxy Buds 3 FE support a range of pinch and swipe gestures to control playback and volume levels. For those with multiple Samsung Galaxy devices, the earbuds automatically switch to whichever device is playing audio.
With ANC enabled, Samsung advertises the Galaxy Buds 3 FE as lasting up to six hours on a full battery. Paired with its charging case, the total battery life reaches up to 24 hours. Without ANC, the buds last up to 8.5 and 30 hours respectively.
Samsung’s big focus on AI also extends to the new buds. When paired with a compatible Galaxy phone, the earbuds translate different languages and can tap into Google’s Gemini AI voice assistant.
At the time of writing, Samsung hasn’t yet listed the new earbuds on its website. They won’t be far away, however, with a 26 September release date locked in, with black and grey colour variants available.
