Whopping 115-inch Samsung TV enhances big-screen viewing

Got room for a 115-inch TV? Samsung has just started taking pre-orders for its 115-inch Neo QLED 4K QN90F in Australia, the biggest screen in the brand’s range.

Earlier in the year, Samsung debuted a 98-inch model alongside its flagship 8K QN990F TV, currently one of the best TVs in Australia. Like Samsung’s other premium TVs, the QN90F also employs a glare-free coating, minimising the impact of sunlight and bright rooms on the screen.

Behind the panel is Samsung’s Mini LED technology, consisting of many tiny backlights capable of producing a bright image. Looking even deeper into the TV, the NQ8 AI Gen 3 processor supports a feature Samsung calls “Supersize Picture Enhancer”. Doing what it says on the tin, the feature relies on algorithms to improve picture clarity on the big 115-inch screen.

Research cited by Samsung claims that 56 per cent of Australians use TVs to watch sports, while 19 per cent play games on TVs. Supporting this, the new big-screen TV supports a smooth 144Hz refresh rate, in addition to motion-smoothing technology best used when watching sports to track the ball a bit easier.

Predictably, upgrading to a 115-inch TV doesn’t come cheap, with the new QN90F costing a cool $26,999 locally. To slightly offset the price, Samsung is throwing in the 17-channel HW-Q990F soundbar at no extra cost for those who pre-order the TV by 15 October. By itself, the soundbar costs $1,999.

Pre-orders for the TV are live now on Samsung’s website and Harvey Norman before it arrives later this month.
