Ecovacs has just launched its new range of outdoor robots with the ambitious promise of giving yard-proud Aussies their weekends back. Ecovacs estimates that Australia has 184 million windows, 1.5 million pools and 9.6 million yards, so launching a range of robotic window washers, pool cleaners and lawn mowers makes a lot of sense.
For me, the most exciting addition to the range is the new Winbot W3 Omni, which was first shown at CES earlier this year. It builds on the company’s previous window washing robots by fixing the most vexatious issue with it: the need to clean the pads.
This new W3 Omni model does all the things you’d expect from an Ecovacs window washing robot, such as using WIN-SLAM 5.0 navigation, TruEdge Technology to clean in the edges, and three nozzles with a wide-angled spray to spread the window washing solution around. Like the previous models, it’s designed to intelligently navigate gaps and stick to the window with 10,000Pa of suction, making it safe to use on external windows many floors up.
What makes the new Winbot W3 Omni extra special, though, is an industry first: it has its own little washing machine in the dock to clean the pads. This “Vortex Wash Station” uses a three-step pad cleaning system: first a jet sprayer blasts the pad, then the pad is scrubbed to get out the dirt, and finally it’s squeezed and scraped dry so it’s ready to use again in just one minute. It’ll be in Australian stores from 4 August for $1,299.
Ecovacs brings back the GOAT
After a couple of years away from releasing robot lawnmowers in Australia, Ecovacs is back with two models: the $2,999 top-of-the-range GOAT A2000 LiDAR Pro, and the $1,299 GOAT O600 RTK. The big upgrade over the previous GOAT model is that both of these are capable of autonomously mapping your garden. No more messing about with beacons and having to drive it around like a remote control car.
The A2000 LiDAR Pro has, as the name suggests, LiDAR navigation to better detect obstacles around your garden, creating a dot-map of your property, and it can mow up to 2,000m² of lawn. That more precise map is important, because it also has a TruEdge edge trimmer, which essentially whipper-snips the outside of your lawn, getting in close to the walls and the corners.
The O600 RTK uses RTK (real-time kinematic) positioning, using satellites to work out where it is in your garden and find its way around up to 600m².
Cleaning your pool
For those with a swimming pool and no time to clean it manually, the Ecovacs Ultramarine P1 — another device debuted at CES 2026 — is a $999 mid-entry-level pool cleaner that has 18,200LPH UltraPure Suction Technology to suck leaves, sand and other debris from the water. It’s able to drive around and map the pool to make the most of its three-hour runtime.
“Our new home and outdoor range is engineered to take on these demanding chores – mowing, window cleaning and pool scrubbing – autonomously,” said Karen Powell, Ecovacs Regional Director of Australia and New Zealand. “We’re not just launching products; we’re giving people back their time to actually enjoy their home and garden.”
To celebrate the launch, Ecovacs secured a Guinness World Record title for “Most People Performing ‘Dad Stance’ Simultaneously”, with 380 people (including Winter Olympian Steven Bradbury, for some reason) gathering in Sydney’s Royal Botanic Garden standing with their hands on their hips. This was certified by an official Guinness World Records adjudicator. It is unclear what the previous highest number of people standing with their hands on their hips while looking at a lawn was.
All of these devices are available for pre-orders today, launching in Australia from 4 August.
