One of the biggest events is here in the form of The Game Awards 2024. Every year, the event recognises the best games across a range of categories, capped off with the highly coveted Game of the Year. Follow along for the winners as they’re announced.
Voted on by more than 100 publications and creators, this year’s nominees include Elden Ring‘s massive DLC Shadow of the Erdtree, Astro Bot, and indie smash-hit Balatro. Unlike a lot of awards ceremonies, The Game Awards is perhaps better known for hosting a range of announcements and showing trailers for upcoming games in between presenting awards.
Stay tuned for the full list of The Game Awards winners for 2024 below and where to tune in.
The Game Awards 2024: When and where to watch
A big live-streamed event, The Game Awards is on all the major video platforms, including YouTube and Twitch. Here in Australia, the showcase kicks off at 11:30 AM AEDT on 13 December 2024.
Strap yourselves in for a marathon viewing session though, it does have a reputation for going on for a while.

There is a difference between action games and action-adventure games, I promise! In any case, Black Myth: Wukong, the wildly popular game out of China is tonight’s winner. Fun fact: Black Myth is the first Chinese-made game to be nominated for Game of the Year at The Game Awards.
