EcoFlow has launched two new portable power devices in Australia, the Delta 3 Plus and the River 3 Plus. Between them, both devices can power a wide mix of large and small appliances at home or on the road.
Billed as a backup power source for home or one that you can take while travelling, the EcoFlow Delta 3 Plus is the larger of the new devices. With 1,024kWh capacity, it can power a 120W fridge for seven hours.
Even if you forget to charge the Delta 3 Plus until the morning of a big trip, it doesn’t take long to top up. EcoFlow advertises the power station as having 1,500W AC input, capable of charging from empty to 100% in less than an hour.
Looking at its spec sheet, the Delta 3 Plus is slightly heavier than the Delta 2, but it benefits from higher output levels. When set to provide surge power, it can produce enough wattage for higher-powered appliances like ovens.
Then there’s the EcoFlow River 3 Plus, a smaller power station for camping trips. At less than 5kg, it has 286Wh capacity, which is expandable up to 858Wh with additional batteries. It outputs as much as 600W, enough to power appliances like fridges, TVs, laptops, and phones. Like the latest Delta model, the River 3 Plus also fully charges in an hour.
In explaining the demand for on-the-go power, EcoFlow pointed to data from the Caravan Industry Association of Australia, which found that Aussies took 15.2 million overnight caravan and camping trips in 2023. Where electricity is not readily available, portable power stations can be a convenient option.
Both the EcoFlow Delta 3 Plus and River 3 Plus are out today in Australia, priced at $1,599 and $499 respectively, available from EcoFlow’s online store, eBay and Amazon.
