Cheapest Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 pre-order deals in Australia

Samsung announced a range of brand-new mobile devices at its Galaxy Unpacked event overnight, including the thinner Galaxy Z Fold 7. It’s tipped to be a powerhouse foldable phone at a premium price, so there are a bunch of pre-order deals to take advantage of the launch buzz.

This year’s Galaxy Z Fold model is only 8.9mm thick when folded, which is 4.2mm thinner than last year’s device. Along with the trimmed-down chassis, it now has a 200MP main camera, rivalling the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s powerful camera array. Despite the slimmer form factor, the Z Fold 7 has larger screens: an 8-inch main display and a 6.5-inch outer screen.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is also more expensive than the 2024 model, so here are some pre-order deals to help you save some money.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 price and release date

The base 256GB model Z Fold 7 starts at $2,899 in Australia, $150 more than the equivalent Z Fold 7 phone. Here’s how much each storage configuration costs at full price:

  • 256GB: $2,899
  • 512GB: $ 3,099
  • 1TB: $3,549

As you can see, Samsung’s flagship foldable sits at the top of the premium smartphone market. Samsung considers its Z Fold range to be the ultimate mobile productivity device, courtesy of its large displays and multi-tasking capabilities.

The Australian release date for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is scheduled for 1 August, with pre-orders available now.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 pre-order deals

Samsung’s online store

Samsung’s main Galaxy Z Fold 7 pre-order offer via its online store is a free storage upgrade for the 512GB model. In other words, the 512GB model costs the same as the 256GB RRP.

It works out to save $200, letting you get the 512GB Galaxy Z Fold 7 for less than $3,000. The 1TB model is also $200 cheaper. Here’s how the pricing works out:

  • 512GB: $2,899
  • 1TB: $3,349

Telstra

Telstra has two main Galaxy Z Fold 7 pre-order deals: one is a discount on repayments, while the other is a trade-in bonus.

With Telstra, you can grab the Z Fold 7 for up to an $800 discount when paying it off over either 12, 24, or 36 months. Before factoring in any plan costs, it means you can get the lowest storage configuration for just over $2,000,

On top of that, Telstra also offers up to $600 in bonus trade-in credit when you swap over an eligible device. That credit applies in addition to the device’s original value, sweetening the deal.

Optus

Interestingly, Optus’ pre-order deal doesn’t apply directly to the telco. Instead, pre-ordering the Galaxy Z Fold 7 on a plan gets you an $800 voucher to use on Samsung’s online store, plus up to 25% off various Samsung accessories.

This discount works on the new Galaxy Watch 8 range, helping you save on a smartwatch upgrade with a new phone.

Vodafone

When pre-ordering the Galaxy Z Fold 7 through Vodafone, you save up to $300 on the device costs on a payment plan. It’s roughly a $250 saving for the 256GB model, while the larger storage configurations get the $300 saving.

Additionally, Vodafone offers up to $700 of bonus trade-in credit when pre-ordering Samsung’s new phone. Again, that credit stacks on top of existing device value, so it benefits regular upgraders with recent phones the most.

JB Hi-Fi and Harvey Norman

On the retailer side of things, JB Hi-Fi and Harvey Norman have the same Galaxy Z Fold 7 pre-order offer as the online Samsung store. You can get the 512GB model for the same price as the 256GB RRP, or save $200 on the 1TB model.

  • 512GB: $2,899
  • 1TB: $3,349
