It’s one thing to read and hear about Samsung’s new Galaxy Z Fold 7, but it’s completely different seeing it in person and realising how thin it actually is.
I flew over to Brooklyn for the Galaxy Unpacked event, which turned out to be a big occasion for thin phones. Much has been said about how the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is merely 8.9mm thick when folded. That’s impressive enough, but it’s also worth mentioning that there’s now barely any gap for dust to creep in and damage the screen.
For a while, Samsung has said its Fold devices are popular among corporate types, people who favour multitasking and productivity. That checks out, considering the $2,899 starting price. I’m keen to spend more time with the phone; it already looks like a decent improvement over last year’s model.
