Samsung has come a long way since its original flip phone, which had a tiny external display. With the new Galaxy Z Flip 7, a 4.1-inch outer screen covers pretty much the entire available surface when folded.
Why is that notable? From Samsung’s perspective, it can fit more widgets and display more information to you without opening the phone. It also makes it easier to frame photos while using the main cameras, which is one of the biggest drawcards of flip phones.
Like the Galaxy Z Fold 7, the Flip 7 has both a thinner design and a more secure hinge mechanism. It fits more easily into your pockets while protecting the screen from dust or anything else that might sneak in while the phone’s folded.
I played around with Samsung’s new Flip at Galaxy Unpacked, and am keen to share more thoughts soon.
