Enter the Gungeon brings its brilliant roguelike action to mobile

Enter the Gungeon and its spin-off, Exit the Gungeon, are now widely available to play on mobile, launching on Android and iOS today. Both are free to download, with the full game unlock priced at $14.99 and $7.99 respectively.

One of my favourite roguelikes — the genre typified by resetting your progress after each attempt — Enter the Gungeon should be a blast on phones. I reckon its twin-stick action would translate well to touch controls, while the zany humour transcends platforms. Shooting anthropomorphised bullet enemies with guns that shoot even weirder bullets is universally amusing, after all.

At the same time, Exit the Gungeon, previously a spin-off exclusive to Apple Arcade, can now be played by everyone. It’s narrower in focus, but still a clever take on the bullet-hell genre.

If you haven’t tried them already, both games should whet your appetite before Enter the Gungeon 2 arrives in 2026, which was announced during the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct in April.
