It wasn’t a surprise to see so much AI technology at IFA, especially from many smart home brands. That being said, one approach I’m keen to see more of comes from Eufy, which announced its ‘AI Core’ platform that aims to bring large-model AI throughout the entire home.
According to Eufy, the AI model is trained to respond to more than 100 common household scenarios. Think things like parcel deliveries and someone approaching the door. AI Core then responds accordingly, in less than three seconds, Eufy claims.
Some smart home devices, like video doorbells, already have AI agents that can respond to visitors for you. But they tend to be slow and don’t react in time to greet a busy delivery worker. Eufy wants to eliminate that delay, while keeping all the data it uses local and on-device.

As part of AI Core, the platform will send you notifications about anything that happens. That’s pretty common. However, Eufy says these notifications will be deliberately concise so they don’t clutter up your phone.
It’s a bold set of claims, and I’m keen to see how Eufy follows through with them when AI Core launches in 2026.
Award-winning security devices
Joining the brand’s security range is the eufyCam S4, which is a hybrid camera that comes with a fixed 4K lens and two 2K lenses. These 2K lenses have pan-tilt functionality, adding a panoramic view to the main lens. The eufyCam S4 received an honourable mention in the Best in Smart Home category at IFA’s Innovation Awards.
Taking home a couple of the main awards were the Eufy Video Doorbell S4, as well as the brand’s PoE NVR security system. In the Content Creation category, Eufy also took home an award for the eufyMake UV Printer E1, a home 3D-texture UV printer that’s coming to Australia in December.
That was on top of the award-winning earbuds designed to help you sleep better.
Valens Quinn attended IFA 2025 with the support of Anker, Aqara, Dreame, Ecovacs, Reolink, Roborock, and Samsung.
