Adobe Photoshop and Premiere get up to 2x faster on NVIDIA RTX Spark

Adobe has expanded its partnership with NVIDIA by optimising Photoshop, Premiere and Substance 3D for the NVIDIA RTX Spark superchip, which NVIDIA launched earlier this month. Adobe says the rebuilt apps deliver up to 2x faster AI processing, editing, colour and effects on RTX Spark.

Photoshop now uses GPU-accelerated compositing, so the Remove Tool and effects like Gaussian Blur and Light Leaks respond faster on canvas. In Premiere, playback, rendering, colour grading and AI features such as Enhance Speech and Object Mask all get faster. Substance 3D Painter speeds up texturing work, including baking mesh maps and exporting textures.

Adobe is also using NVIDIA GPUs to speed up Frame.io in the cloud. Early tests show embedding generation is about 5x faster, so uploaded footage becomes searchable sooner. Adobe and NVIDIA will show more at AdobeMAX, which runs from 10 to 12 November. GadgetGuy will be at the show to bring you the latest updates.
