In one of the subscription service’s biggest deals, Apple Music is currently just $2.99 a month ahead of the Super Bowl halftime show.
“Our best offer ever,” Apple’s website proclaims. At $10 less than a standard subscription, it’s a decent discount. It’s also one of Apple Music’s longest discounts, lasting six months before reverting to its normal $12.99 price. $60 off a music subscription isn’t anything to sneeze at.
The timing of Apple’s promotion is set to take advantage of the attention it’ll get for sponsoring the upcoming Super Bowl halftime. This year’s headline performer is Kendrick Lamar, who will be joined by SZA, both of whom are fresh off recent Grammy wins. More importantly, my beloved Philadelphia Eagles are playing for the Lombardi Trophy against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Alongside the Apple Music discount, there’s plenty of buzz around Kenrick Lamar’s performance. The Kendrick’s Road to Halftime takeover is a Super Bowl-themed section in the Apple Music app, highlighting Lamar’s career to date, including his latest album, GNX.
There’s also a bunch of other stuff there, like playlists for the competing teams and star players. I’m not at all taking it personally that the Chiefs’ playlist has nearly 20 more songs than Philly’s. Nope, not at all.
How to claim the Apple Music discount
Even if you’re not into rap or a fan of Kendrick Lamar (seriously though, Drake diss track “Not Like Us” rules), the Apple Music discount appeals to all tastes. However, it’s not available to everyone.
According to the promotion’s terms and conditions, the discount “is for eligible new subscribers redeeming on eligible devices.” It doesn’t apply to users who have an existing three-month free offer either.
To check your eligibility, open the Apple Music app on either an iPhone, iPad or Mac. From there, make sure you’re signed into your Apple account. The offer should appear automatically or via the app’s home screen.
Even if you miss the discount by the time the Super Bowl finishes, time’s on your side. As long as you claim it between now and 27 February 2025, you’re good to go.
Go birds.
