Google only recently started inviting people to its Pixel 10 launch event, and now it’s made things public with a first look at the Pixel 10 Pro. As previously confirmed, Google plans to officially announce its new phones on 21 August, Australian time.
Hosted on Google’s online storefront is a brief animation showing a glimpse of the upcoming hardware. It’s hardly revelatory stuff; the handset looks extremely similar to last year’s Pixel 9 Pro model. A silver-grey colour is seen in the clip, which looks sleek enough, provided you don’t mind an absence of vibrancy.
Arguably, the most interesting news comes from Android Headlines. The publication revealed a series of official renders depicting the base Pixel 10 model. Other than a range of vibrant colours, including an eye-catching lime green, it also shows a third rear camera.
Past reports suggested the Pixel 10 would get the most drastic hardware upgrade of the entire range. Android Headlines claims the third camera will be a telephoto sensor, the first time a non-Pro Pixel gets a zoom lens. However, it’s tipped to come at the expense of the Pixel 10’s other cameras, tipped to be smaller to accommodate the third sensor.
We’ll know for certain once Google officially launches its new phones on 21 August.
